Case's Notes

There is a rather subsantial possibility that this single Aren't We Real comic was the longest Aren't We Real comic I ever drew.

You see, what I wanted in this episode originally was to have a birds-eye view of the club Petey and Horse were going to, with a huge line-up to get into the club. Both of them would be towards the end of the queue, and Petey would be complaining that they should go to another place, his legs hurt, it's too cold, the cover charge would probably be expensive, and Horse would end up simply telling him to shut the fuck up.

Now that would have served mostly as a lead-in and extra emphasis to Petey's akwardness to the whole situation. But I tried so many, many, many times to draw a credible street area with tons of people in a line, and a building in perspective and I failed to many, many, many times that I just gave up on the idea and ended up doing that comic. Which explains the cop-out "So here were are in [this place I was unable to draw]" entry. Sure, that kind of stuff works in Gluemeat because it's part of the bigger joke, but I guess there was something more that I wanted here. I wanted to be able to illustrate the world and show my complete view of it. I took up a challenge and I failed at it. However, in the process, I ended up discovering my own artistic limitations. Which eventually I would use to my advantage.

Comments!

We've all been there, Case.

I certainly have... I just figured out yesterday that my hands have forgotten how to draw my comic characters! :(
Art can be a tough mistress.
