I'm certain that's not what he meant, because he's not an idiot and only an idiot politician would say that. Given the context, the only way to take it as a slight against the troops is to read in the slight. No comic would ever make the mistake of thinking that the joke, however bad, targeted anything other than the president. I don't know what to think about the picture. Either they're only fed certain news, and that news is the dishonest type feeding them Fox News, or they've got the same internet I do, and chose trust the talking heads rather than see if Kerry actually insulted them.
