Quick comment on my part: regardless of the fact the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health’s report is accurate or not, tens of thousands of Iraqis have lost their lives in this war. Only someone bolted down in an ivory tower with an ocean separating him from the violence would even consider this situation tolerable.
Tough little buggers. People keep trying to kill them, and they don’t all just. . . uh, well, they can’t leave, and if they side with the islamists, they’re way more likely to be killed. . . so, uh. Huh.
What exactly was his point? “Tolerating violence” is pretty much the only thing you CAN do when you’re caught in a war zone. It’s not like Iraqi civilians volunteered for people to blow up their neighborhoods.
