Banksy hits Disneyland
This one is already a couple of days old, and I don’t know how I missed it, but here it is nonetheless, out of the sheer awsomeness of the event.
Hot off his Paris Hilton CD swap, artist Banksy placed a mannequin garbed as a Guantanamo Bay detainee inside the Rocky Mountain Railroad ride at Disneyland in Anaheim California.

More pictures here.
The dummy stayed there for about nintey minutes before Mouse security came to pick it up. Betcha ten bucks he tried to get into Disneyworld but recoiled at the finger scanning machinery.
Via Dateline: Bristol.
thanks for the link, dude. i live in Bristol (from NYC) and totally love it here. i’ve got photos i’ve taken of more unknown Banksys like little zoo animals stencilled here and there.
Banksy rules, this is the stuff that needs more media attention. if had not seen this, then i would have lived an entirety not knowing that Disney land was at last amuzing.

Rimone: no sweat. Always nice to give a link to a fellow conspirator.
I’d really love to see those stencil shots…
Roland: I only wish I had picked up on it earlier. It kinda does make you want to go to Disneyland: “Come one, come all! See the spot where Banksy’s Guantanamo dummy stood!”
shite camera-phone pic taken while ripped/drunk: hippo. i’ve got a few more taken here and there all over Bristol but unfortunately cannot find them now.
What a shame!
I went Banksy’s show in LA and loved it! He is so clever and funny. It’s been a while since I laughed out loud at an art show. Most art shows are always depressing and gloomy. it’s very refreshing I must say. I also went to Disneyland the week after the Banksy ordeal. I did notice a bit more Disney Gostopoe than usual. Keep up the great work Banksy!
