That succesful comic-comment by Polly is probably the funniest thing I've seen on Gluemeat for months...

RP: Right back atcha...!

Salena: You're going to get more than a fruit basket. Can you say "floral arrangement?" Good, I'm glad you can. You'll be getting bacon. Also, you need a gravatar.

Polly: It's nice to hear from you again! I just don't know where you got this "successful comic" thing from, but I'll just smile politely and say "Yeah." Also, you mentioned "out-of-control feminism." I didn't know there such a thing as "controlled feminism."

Saksboy: That's not a bad tip, actually. But I prefer to bombard the progblog space with my upcoming 73-part series: Pictures of Kitties In Diapers.

Scott: Wait... if you don't have "people," who were those hirsute people I traded campfire songs with the other night?

Saying you've tested my patience is a bit of a stretch, Polly. :)

As for "my people"... I am going to state for the umpteenth time for Mike's sake to clarify this once again - I am not the actual head of the site or its chief administrator. That honour goes to Wayne Chu. I'm just one of 4 people who have the title "moderator" that helps Wayne manage the site. Since I have been primarily doing the blog approvals/disapprovals anyhow, and since Wayne and Bart have been both away, and Dr Dawg is on a leave of absence while his partner is fighting cancer, that leaves myself and James Bowie to make sure the site doesnt self-destruct til Wayne gets back and/or Bart returns from vacation ;) James is still a fairly new moderator, so blog maintenance and so on is more or less left to me.

We've never had a litmus test really on blogs and how much political content they need to have. We all like a change of pace from that occasionally. There are quite frankly at least 2 blogs on now (not Polly's!) that I'm lucky to see 1 political writing every 2-3 weeks. But, since they were some of the first original members of the place before things got really big really fast, they've been left alone - as have any other blogs that deal a fair deal in personal blogs.

Its the "new" blogs applying to us for membership that we carefully check for both what they say politically and also how much politics they post.

I only write political about 60% of the time, and haven't been kicked out of a political blogroll yet, so I wouldn't worry. One thing you could possibly do, is create a politics category, and so anything posted with that tag would show on the progblogs if you gave them that URL for your blog instead. I did that with one roll I'm on to weed out things not at all related to their roll.

I remember...I really liked Tasteful Future. Of course, now that you've drawn attention to this issue of political blogs versus those with a political slant, some of us might have to negotiate our place with Progressive Bloggers too. And, I have already tested Scott's patience with my out-of-control feminism...and I don't write a successful comic...so, I guess that's it for me...

Do I get a gift basket? If so I would like it to include a monkapotamus. Or a goaticorn. Or are those not politically correct?

And thus ends another chapter of pointless commenting. Goodnight and good luck.
