Fellow Gluemeaties, today begins a small series of fan-art (which we around here call “Meatgrinds”) which will showcase the wonderful cards (and gifts!) I recieved from some of you. If anything, the 2006 edition of Send Case Yorke a Birthday Card served to show without a shadow of a doubt that I am a Card Whore. It is a burden I believe I will learn to deal with.

So to begin the day, Gluemeaty Monkey’s card will kick off the festivities.

Also, you may have noticed that I have added links in the top three boxes here to allow for quick inclusion of Gluemeat editions to Ma.gnolia. What the hell is Ma.gnolia, you ask? It’s a new social bookmarking service which I have been using for work over the past week and have found to be especially practical and useful, everything that del.icio.us crap isn’t. I figure that if any of you would like to sign up for a free account and help promote Gluemeat that way, it would be a wonderful little cutie-pie gesture! Did I just write cutie-pie?

Good morning fellow Gluemeaties!

First and foremost this morning, friends, I have a tremendously huge announcement. I mean, big. Real big.

Ladies and gentlemen, BoxJam and I have made up.

Yes indeed, we had a public reconciliation where he and I decided to put our differences aside and try to move on. A lot has been said and drawn between us, but we hope that, regardless, we can serve as an example of peace and understanding of which someone could contact us to write a book about, followed by an inspiring made-for-TV movie. One can only hope.

So I suggest you go visit BoxJam’s Doodle today with peace and content in your heart. He would like that. And so would I.

As for my birthday, fellow Gluemeaties, I received a good haul of cards which made me very happy. They all mostly came in during the course of the week thanks to the bad weather we got and the newbie-ness of our new mail carrier. Yet, I was very happy and thrilled to get the cards (and gifts!) which I will all share with you in the course of upcoming Meatgrind entries to the site. That will make the lot of you who did not send anything green with envy. GREEN.

Well, fellow Gluemeaties, I am about to embark upon my 33rd year of life on this planet. My birthday was indeed yesterday and there was much revelry. I am super.

Considering the snowstorm which whirled through my dear old Quebec City last Friday, no mail was delivered so I am expecting to see a couple of cards today. Rest assure that you will all be kept posted. YEAH

Fellow Gluemeaties, tragedy has struck. Freezing rain and hail is descending from the heavens upon my hometown of Quebec City, which most assuredly means that there will be no mail delivery today, which means that all the cards you all meticulously put together, sealed into an envelope and tossed into your mailbox of choice shall not reach me until next week. Yes, Canada Post are weenies like that. They would prefer to supply safe working conditions for their mail carriers than to provide me with my birthday wishes. TO HELL, I SAY!

Anyway, moving right along, I would like to comment on this comic here done by that BoxJam guy. Seriously, folks, if I were Chris Crosby, I’d boot his blue, misshapen butt straight out of Keenspot and leave him in the gutter of his own sharpie-sniffing-induced hallucinations for being such an inconsiderate, whining toad. What, are we supposed to feel sorry for BoxJam? Are our hearts supposed to rend because instead of getting 524,000 uniques visits a day like Sinfest does he only gets 30,000? Are we really supposed to believe that he’s this lowly second-class citizen in the Keenverse? I mean, he is one in real life, but there’s no reason for him to play the victim here. And how dare he drag a fine, upstanding individual like Scrubbo into his mire of self-pity? Poor, poor Scrubbo.

Remember when I did that My Name is BoxJam flash thing a few months ago and I stated at the end that pathetic was all his comic had to offer? What else can I say than “point and match.”

Okay, so it’s Saint Valentine’s Day. Whoop-dee-doo. Just a lot of hooplah which takes away all the attention from MY BIRTHDAY which is FIVE DAYS AWAY (SEND A CARD!!!).

There are but a few arguable reasons why Saint Valentine’s Day is relevant, yet many people cling to this day as the best moment to show you love someone, though I beg to differ. However, when you’re in grade school and your mind hasn’t been overwashed with cynicism, the innocence of today’s intentions is unquestionable. Regardless of how I feel, I cannot but be overwhelmed with the Valentines card my son Mathias did for a little girl in his class:

You can click to enlarge it. In any extent, the card reads: “Chère Lauriane. Quand je te vois, mon coeur bat très fort. Tu es la plus belle fille de l’univers. Tu es ma belle fleur. Joyeuse St-Valentin!!! Ton ami, Mathias.”

It’s times like this one where I wonder if I’m just not too over-analytical of the world and have forgotten how simple it can be. Then I hear someone talk about the Olympics and the ire gets me back on track.

THERE IS ONE WEEK LEFT TO SEND ME A CARD!

Yes, fellow Gluemeaties, to kick off this week, I have dusted off the venerable <blink> HTML tag to emphasize that all that is left to send me a birthday card is about five days. My birthday is this Sunday, February 19, and there is no mail delivery on Sundays. Because that would be terrible. For mail carriers to work on Sunday. It is, after all, the day of the Lord.

If you’re feeling crafty, you can make your own card. If not, a store-bought one will be just as nice. BUT IT’S MY BIRTHDAY! IT DESERVES CARDS! ELSE I WILL USE THE BLINK TAG AGAIN! I’M JUST THAT CRAZY TO DO IT!

In the meantime, great news has befallen my grateful crown, as I have succeeded in losing the weight I wanted! That’s right, folks, I have reached my objective of 200 pounds and then some! I am currently stationed at 198 pounds!! Whoo! So not only did I ditch the 10 pounds I wanted to get rid of, I’m well on my way to getting rid of the extra 10 I’d like to lose to return to hanging out around the 190-pound mark. Talk about a birthday gift… for my health!

Ugh. That was corny.

Hello fellow Gluemeaties! Your humble servant is feeling a little under the weather with what seems to be the start of a cold. So, I believe it will be time for me to kick in my anti-cold shock treatment and try and stifle the symptoms before I get too groggy to party.

Here’s what I do: I take a big glass of orange juice and add a bulb of liquid echinacea to it, then swallow it all down. I do that twice a day. In fact, I go through about two litres of orange juice per day, drinking glasses here and there, as I take it to the bug inside me, hardcore.

Everyone has their own anti-cold recipe, this is mine and works wonders. Anyone else has these kinds of tricks? Let’s discuss them on the Glueboard!
