Milestone: My son, Mathias, sleepwalked for the first time last night.
So, I don’t know if any of you noticed, but Gluemeat now has a notification list. What is a notification list, you ask, Tim? Really, Tim, what a silly question; everyone knows a notification list is a list you can add your email to in order to receive a timely email delivered into your inbox to announce to “notify” you (see how that works, Tim?) of when new content has been updated on Gluemeat.Com.
I decided to add the list as you can never really expect as to when I am going to add something next. Like adding this comic on a Tuesday! I added something to Gluemeat on a TUESDAY. That, like, NEVER HAPPENS! DOESN’T THAT JUST BLOW YOUR MIND??! If you were on the notification list, you’d have known about it. Probably even before Tim did.
So look, here’s the box signup thing, so what’s keeping you?

Advice of the day: if someone tells you that they feel the DVD format has already passed its prime, answer “You would know, wouldn’t you?” and enjoy the following puzzled look from your interlocutor and nearby eavesdroppers.
So I put on some weight. You know, the Holidays. I splurged, man, big time. Not a problem, really. But over the weekend there was this function I desired to attend and wished to wear my favourite Ugly Kung-Fro T-shirt to venture into said function. But when I tried it on, it felt snug. Way too snug. I stared at myself in the mirror and realised with horror that I have a commanding pudge. Not that the pudge is really a problem, but the pudge would keep me from wearing my favourite T-shirt. Which is unacceptable.
Thusly, as of today, Case Yorke is on a diet.
Therefore, following a suggestion my therapist issued to help me overcome my fear of sandals, I decided to come up with a motivational tool to help me drop the weight. That motivational tool will be to post my weight on my website, once a day, after I weigh myself in the morning. See, there is nothing better to crank my car than the potential for public humiliation.
Just before the holidays, I was hovering around 200 pounds. Now, I’m around 210. I need to drop at least 10 pounds. 10 pounds will be my objective. If things go well, I’d ideally like to reach 190. But let’s go one at a time.
So feel free to email, use the Glueboard or IM me (either at AIM Moko No Swallow or MSN gluemeat@hotmail.com) to tell me how much of a disgusting fatty I am. I will then proceed to punch you. Numerous times. In the face.
Have a great week everyone!

It’s been a fun week getting back into the Gluemeat of things. Hope it’s been the same for you all.
Topic of discussion: Now, what if all the world’s cheese suddenly became accessible to everyone. I’m talking gourmet cheese; cheese that has a smell. How many people would outright refuse to eat any?
Have an excellent weekend, everyone!

Classic AWR - Battling Homosexuality 1

Well would you look at this now. It’s an old Aren’t We Real comic strip. For sooth! What is going on here?
First and foremost, for those of you who aren’t in the know, Aren’t We Real (or AWR as the hipsters refer to it) was my first foray into the world of webcomics way back in 2000. And while it allowed me to get to know Lee Herold, Adam Burke, Brad Guigar, Bob Roberts, Xaviar Xerxes and, unfortunately, that Harvest Moon-loving misanthrope Boxjam (who needs to convince someone to marry them???), the comic fell by the wayside and eventually led to Gluemeat.
Now, I know I started re-issuing them on another section of the Gluemeat site and stopped. I guess it was a bad web decision which eventually turned me off, as I should have simply put them all on the main Gluemeat index. So I’ve decided to do just that! Start over from scratch and get it right up here for all to see. Therefore, folks, prepare over the next few months to be introduced to the ghosts of my past: Petey Real and his faithful companion Horse.
Be forewarned, however. My AWR stuff is much coarser than anything you regular Gluemeaties have been exposed to, and some people might read it and be outright offended. So the red flag has been raised. Risks and perils are yours.
See you tomorrow!

Celebration

Hello once again, fellow Gluemeaties!
Many thanks to Dave’s illuminating observations for today’s comic.
Thank you all for the well-wishes and salutations. It feels nice to be at the stuff again. The STUFF. But we have to return to doing what we do best, and that is to be the best damn Gluemeaties we could possibly be.
How, do you ask? How does one become the best Gluemeaty possible? Well, it’s not an easy task, believe you me. Many have tried and some have failed. But contributing to the Gluemeat Wikipedia entry is a good way to do it! There is all sorts of Gluemeat trivia and tidbits to be added, not to mention a wide open range of absent character descriptions, such as Moko, for instance. Doesn’t everyone love Moko? Poor Moko.
There will be more ways on how to become the best Gluemeaty possible in the days to come. Make sure you take notes.
And this may be old news for some (but recent for me since I’ve been out of it for so long) but Lee Adam Herold has finally decided to shake the one-panel monkey off his back and try a new format for Chopping Block. I can only expect great things from it, as Lee has a wonderfully twisted imagination and a sleek pair of legs.

It wouldn’t really be a new year if I weren’t around to ring it in with a resounding, brand new Gluemeat now, would it?
First and foremost, sincere apologies for zoning out like that. No, it wasn’t due to any medical emergency like my previous unscheduled hiatus has provoked. I’m fit and healthy and (finally) in good spirits. It may be tacky, but the holidays really has a positive, rejuvenating effect on people.
Unwelcome circumstances are what made me disappear from Gluemeat. Fall 2005 was very hard psychologically, as someone close to me came upon some very hard times which I had to invest a lot of time and energy in. It left me feeling tapped and Gluemeat became a second-hand priority, as I tried to juggle work and family life along with said issue. I had trouble finding humour in things, which is why I put more effort into Tasteful Future during that period, I guess. Lots of soul searching was going on while my mettle was tested.
If I ignored Gluemeat it wasn’t out of spite. I apologize to anyone who felt slighted with this, but even visiting Gluemeat felt weird and I guess I was stricken with guilt out of ignoring the comic for so long. The last thing I wanted to do was alienate you readers, and I will be most grateful to anyone who stuck around, posted stuff on the old Glueboard while waiting for some new ‘meat.
So, as of now, all personally issues have been dealt with and new and exciting stuff is coming around for ye olde Case Yorke in the next year, which I will keep you abreast of as it comes about. I hope you all enjoy the new design and the new things that Gluemeat will have to offer. I’m going to enter a very experimental phase with the comic, one which I hope you will enjoy and that you will participate in as well. Yes, participate; there will be more on that later. But I can reassure you all, I haven’t felt this energized and bat-crazy like this in a while, so I hope it will turn into good stuff from you all!
Here’s to the future! Happy New Year everybody!!!
