Baseball

Candy makes a nifty antisceptic. True.

Fellow Gluemeaties, today is election day in Canada. To say that I am worried is an understatement.

Polls have recently shown that the Conservative Party of Canada has a good chance of winning the election with a majority government. We are quite close to ending up with a conservative, socially repressive government, led by one of the most right-wing politicians to ever lead a political party in Canada, one Stephen Harper. His political roots can be traced back to the foundation of the Canadian Reform Party, which was strewn with bigots and fundamentalists, and other special interest groups looking to keep true social progress down.

I’ll be stuck to my TV tonight, hoping to the very end that Peter Mansbridge doesn’t make any official announcements to confirm Canadians have elected Stephen Harper as the new Prime Minister of Canada.

I hope that in a best case scenario, he comes into power with a minority government so the rest of the left and left-leaning parties can keep him in check.

    Ah, dear old dad.

Replace “that kid” with “me” and “Orange’s Dad” with “my dad” and you’ve pretty much figured out my worldview.

Is his father decaying or what’s going on with that?

I hope the kid was grateful; not having a leg is *far* better than running like a girl.
