Bizarro Gluemeat

Meaty.

First and foremost, Deadmeaties, I would like to thank Case Yorke for asking me and Laur. to take over Gluemeat while he was gone. It was really fun cutting up his characters and cutting him down to size. As Lauragorn will agree it was a giddy thrill every sunday, tuesday, and thursday night to press that publish button and see our wonderful creations find purchase on the rocky soil known as the internet.

Secondly I’d like to thank you guys for treating us right and not flaming us for the potentially horrible jokes and font jobs we tried to pull with some of them. I’m glad that some of you got a kick out of them.

Thirdly, this is not the end of the road for the Deadmeat creators, oh no. Our web-project Ripe For Parody is in the works, and hopefully sometime in the coming months we will have something to show for ourselves at our new home on the web. I’d like to think of it as the first website to claim Gluemeat as a direct inspiration, for it will be many things, and not just a webcomic alone.

Finally, I will post script the Flashtoon above, which I give complete credit to Laur. for with inspiration and creation. Macromedia is a mystery to me. Did you notice how it’s an homage to Godard and also possibly Cocteau perhaps? Also I’m sure there’s a Homestarrunner reference in there as well… how can there not be?!

That was funny…all I really got was the last box, I really should learn french.

    Hilaaaaaarious.
That’s the best part about Canada…everyone’s bilingual.

  3. by TN:

Right… everyone. Unless your live in British Colombia… and Saskatchewan… and also Alberta. Oh and let’s not forget Nova Scotia. PEI as well. Maybe a handful of people in Manitoba and Ontario. Nobody knows what garbled code Newfoundlanders speak in. Who speaks French in Canada again? Is it the Inuit? I bet it’s the Inuit.

  4. by Earthbound Misfit:

So when you’re talking about bilingualism, are you saying that the Inuits are into it?

  5. by Katsuni:

The french thing was a bit annoying since I don’t speak much of it, but I do understand everything from the third panel on.

I don’t know, just seems kind of odd to have a comic in english then switch to quebecquois somewheres in the middle to confuse people.

Note that quebec does not actually speak true french any more than the united states speaks the queen’s english!

    Similarities but not quite right.

I blame cretien, mainly because I honestly don’t remember wh o the PM is right now… politics are too boring to research even to make fun of them.

True french? You Mean LATIN?! OR DID I JUST BLOW YOUR FSKING MIND?!

  7. by James:

Pfft. THIS Britshish Columbian is fluent in french.

God bless you and your french immersion program, Pierre Trudeau.

  8. by Gemini6Ice:

I chuckled, but I’m sure I would have found it far funnier if I actually spoke French. Heu, mea una secunda lingua Latina est.

    CAERULEUS: Brutus brutus vere?
    LETEUS: Tu puerilis es.

  9. by Roadie:

Yes, here’s another British Columbian who’s fluent in french, and yes, here’s another god bless you french immersion program.
