Son of a toothless friar!

Just wanted to drop a quick note and let you all know that my iMac G5 is on the fritz again, with the same issues which plagued it back in January. So I might have to take my little baby-snookums to the shop for the first time since landing in my grateful bosom, as Apple thinks the problem is deeper than sending me another midplane board. Which I totally concur with. So you’ll have to forgive me if I’m slower to answer emails and all that lovely communication stuff. I hope things can be arranged real quick.

Oh, and by the way, thank you all for the speculation. I feel better. A little. NEED MORE!!!

Now, I know a few days have passed since my BIG ANNOUNCEMENT that on the 500th Gluemeat comic, I was going to be killing off one major character, and all you wondrous regular readers were sent in a spin. I know the initial shock has died down, the question is still there, remains very present, but the speculation has died down. DIED DOWN. I will not tolerate it DYING DOWN. This is an event, a gimmick, a stunt to generate buzz, interest, scuttlebutt, or whatever else you may wish to generate about the comic. So I suggest you get back to wondering who’s going to be off’ed and why, and who it couldn’t possibly be and why, and have long, lengthy discussions about it. I refuse to let this event go by and let Gluemeat drone into a state of sustained life support. Actions, people! ACTIONS!!

Friday Morning Note Of Interest: I have just been informed by my hosting provider that there will be system-wide upgrades tonight starting at 11pm EST, which will effectively render gluemeat.com inaccessible for a few hours. The situation should return to normal early Saturday morning. Thanks for your understanding.

Okay, so this is funny? It’s comedy? It’s droll? Amusing? Giggle-worthy? If you‘ve been stealing Maxim magazine from your library’s periodicals section, maybe.

One of my old webcomic pals, and I mean “pal” as in “never decided to wait till my back was turned to stab me in the back with a rusty miner’s pike or an elk” kind of pal, Eric Toffey (mmm… yum…) has rushed back at the world with the full-on force of a football tackle and has opened up mestupid.com, a budding community for lovers of pop culture on all levels. Lots of stuff to see and do there, SO GET TO IT!! You can always read Eric’s thought-provoking and mindbending Sauce, too. Heh. “Mindbending.”

And speaking of people with websites, I took the time to visit regular Gluemeat reader Sev’s web offering, over at mandor.net. It comes in the format of a community weblog and delivers biting articles or a crispy, scathing sort, sometimes humorous, always ironic, and never juiceless. If you’re in the mood for something different, have a few glances over in that direction.

Hello and good Monday to you all!

Well, yes, that mean, nasty bug which not only claimed the health of my boy Mathias last Thursday also took my girlfriend as its next victim the very next day, which only meant that I was next in line on Saturday to fall prey to its nasty, evil, gastric clutches. Everyone was so sick in the Yorke household, you could almost SMELL the germs. But, in a sense, we all spent quality time together, trading bathroom stories, competing for highest fever marks, and how long one could sleep without an “incident.” Yes, those family ties run deep. Deep, deep, deep.

So, with not-so-much-delay, here is today’s Gluemeat, which I hope you will enjoy.

Apologies for the lateness today, fellow Gluemeaties, but my son Mathias has been quite sick, and Dad gets really, really nervous when his son gets sick, and Dad tries to concentrate on stuff, but it quickly becomes terribly and absolutely futile. I really wanted to do this Moko comic, despite the fact I could have copped out and done something else. This one just felt right. Enjoy!

Hello to all of you, fellow Gluemeaties!

I’d be holding back essential information if I didn’t tell you that I was extremely satisfied with the reaction which erupted from my announcement of what cruel destiny which awaits one of our beloved Gluemeat characters. Oh, yes, let there be no doubt in any of your minds, there is one of them is going to go to the Valhalla of deceased comic characters for real. Trust me on this: whoever dies is not going to come back the next comic, or a couple of weeks after that. That character is going to be GONE, FINITO, KAPUT! All over. All, all over.

It’s just really sad that some people are finding pleasure in it.
