First of all, I've never used the word 'rut' here before. Second of all, there is nothing wrong with them. Continuity and consistent, solid funniness is good, but it's even better when it's broken up by severe awesomness like this. I have nothing against Gluemeat -- I read it every day. More like five times a day, actually, since I have a bad habit of checking every site on my Bookmarks list over and over even when I know they haven't updated. It is true that I don't like some strips as much as others, but I read a lot of webcomics, and that's pretty universal. Gluemeat is not my favorite of them, but it's good enough to make the cut onto the list of ones I actually read, and that's saying a lot right there.

I don't mean to be overly defensive, but I really think you're wrong about what I say. Maybe I'm just remembering wrong or something, but it seems like most of what I say _is_ praise. I dunno. I do tend to point out the small things I don't like and neglect to mention that I really love the whole thing overall, so maybe that's what's happening here. I'll try to pay more attention to that.

I kinda find it ironic that you choose to mention by down-on-Gluemeatness after I just loudly proclaimed the current strip to be one of my favorites ever... When I wrote it, I wasn't even talking about a Gluemeat-specific rut. I more meant that webcomics in general don't often do things like that. It is all too likely that it is only just a dream, or something similar, which is a tad unfortunate, but okay anyway. I think it would be extra-super nifty if blue were permanently a demon forever, maybe getting changed back in a month or so, but not right away.

In closing, I love Gluemeat, and nothing I say about a particular comic lessens that. I will try to be more careful about phrasing, and including praise for stuff I like, and stuff. The end.

OK,I'll just come right out and say it:
Personman, please be quiet.
Seriously.
I have yet to notice this "rut" you make so much reference to. Case's work has been continuously excellent. It drives me up the wall that you keep acting like Gluemeat is in some kind of slump. The only change in Gluemeat over the past year has been that Case has explored new areas in creativity, and quite successfully at that.
You can't play off your comments as "constructive", either, because just repeating ten million times over that you are disappointed or feel there is a slump is in no way constructive. It's just negative and it's starting to bug me. It doesn't bug me just because I love Glumeat, but also because I think Case works hard and you're treating him like crap.

Now, I haven't slept in 2 nights, so maybe my tiredness is magnifying Personman's comments (both in number abd in harshness) unfairly. I tend to think, however, that things are as I percieve them.

On a further note, Case, I really like the character development, including the visual changes (new expressions, etc.), recently.
I hope your injuries heal quickly. The holidays are too rough on you.

WAIT, this is gonna be some dream where orange wakes up and there is a sappy ending and maybe a cool plot twist like life imitates the dream world from the begining or something like that, from unpredictable to predictable in to seconds folks ;)

Of course I could be wrong...

Refreshingly rut-breaking. Ruts are good, but in a bad way. And this is good, but in an awesome way.
