Yes, indeed, Blue is back. May the nude-in-the-street rejoicing begin. Seriously.
I hope none of you thought that Mega Man replacing Blue was a long-term gig. If some of you got worried, if some of you felt like no longer reading the comic, if some of you felt like I was using a cheap gimmick, or if some of you thought it was just plain stupid, I say: mission accomplished. Let us all be thankful Blue is back in his usual round, pudgy, smiling form, and not incarnated by a pixelized and overused, albeit entertaining, video game character.
If anyone can guess the (rather obscure) musical reference in today’s comic, I’ll be impressed.
I suggest you drop by Chris Bishop’s Her! this week and look for my little Girl vs. Pig contribution to his guest art week celebrating his birthday. Happy birthday, Chris, and long live Her!
I also served BoxJam a guest strip just for the hell of it. I just adore the Doodle; it’s my little way of saying “thank you” to old Boxer for sticking with it through all these years, even through the hardest times. Double-check the Doodle this week every day, just to see if he runs it or not.
I heard that Penny Arcade had its first convention about video games, roleplaying games, tabletop games, and so on. Guess it’s not about the comic anymore. Hang on, was it ever about the comic?
Happy Labour Day to all us North Americans! To the rest of world: GET BACK TO WORK!
