A news entry? Really? After all this time? Eh, why not? The Olympics are over, after all. Not that watching watching an event staged by a deeply corrupted organisation marketing ideals of sportsmanship and fair play as a reason to recieve billions of dollars by various governments and coroporate sponsors means anything to me…
Did you folks get to see Apple’s new iMac? I suddenly need one. You know, NEED. I have NEEDS. NEEDS FOR AN IMAC. Seriously, I’m due for a major machine upgrade. I love my 500mhz iBook, but I’m due for an overhaul.
It’s interesting to note that Apple is basing the sale and design of the new iMac on the success of the iPod: “From the makers of the iPod” and “What if you could fit your whole life […] in a computer as fun and useful as an iPod?” Kind of odd that your periphiral becomes the selling point of your base.
I recently discovered this great band called Asobi Seksu, a bunch of japanese-americans based out of New York who make some awesome music somewhere between power pop and Sonic Youth. Don’t let the japanese lyrics on their über (note the umlauts) happy song I’m Happy But You Don’t Like Me fool you: this isn’t your run-of-the-mill J-pop ensemble. You can download songs from their web site, but I truly suggest Sooner.
