Birthday (Part 1)

Meaty.

Well folks, here we are. This is the week of Gluemeat’s birthday. We are about to embark upon year 3 with much thrill, pleasure, and anticipation! I can’t say how excited I am to be able to celebrate yet another anniversary this year. It’s an amazing thing to still be around doing this comic, but even more amazing that there are more and more of you who seem to enjoy what I do, which simply gives me the power to move on, and give it my best.

That’s what this past year has essentially taught me. Gluemeat has readers; very loyal and fun readers who really care about what I do. Like I’ve always said, I started doing Gluemeat because it was a fun idea I had and I will continue doing it as long as it is fun to do. But I have since factored in the audience aspect trying to come up with stuff that would be up to expectations. That those who did bother to come and visit the comic and care about it would feel that I show them the same appreciation by giving them the best Gluemeat-like comics possible. Which is something I both take as a challenge and as another level of fun. The pleasure I’ve been taking in reading all your comments and interacting with you has made it all worth the while. Thanks to all my fellow Gluemeaties for making the past year so much fun. Here’s to another year!

I hope you all enjoy the new design. I am HOPING that it will generate less hullabaloo as last year’s re-design and there will be more of a consensus. Besides, I’m planning on eliminating all those who have bad things to say about this design, because I think it’s uber-cool. Now don’t forget, we have the new discussion forums up to chit-chat about, oh say, how cool the new design is. And you don’t have to be registered to participate! You can also now drop comments about individual comics as well by hitting the “Comment on this comic” link at the bottom of the comic. I’m hoping that most of you will take advantage of it, because I’ll be open to all you have to say. No matter how serious or silly it would be. And you don’t have to be registered there either! Hooray!

Now don’t forget that starting Tuesday my old Aren’t We Real will be shown once again right here on Gluemeat. Now I warn you all: it is nothing close to being like Gluemeat, and is intended for people who are not afraid of controversy. Oh, and adults too. So don’t be too shocked. In any event, I will be annotating each AWR comic with some comments, mostly to defuse what I’ve written in the past so that you don’t all turn on me.

I hope you enjoy the birthday comic this week, and I will chat more on Tuesday, like, for instance, of Dan Beeston’s visit to my part of the rock!
